A U.S. medical team working in West Africa has tested positive for the Ebola virus, the World Health Organization announced Monday.
The team members who have tested positive include the group that has been operating out of the U.N. Mission to Monitor and Combat Illness in West African States, or MONUSCO, the WHO said.
The World Health Organisation has already reported two cases in Liberia.WHO said the team was tested for the virus on Friday in a rural area in Liberia where a team was treating a patient with a high fever and severe headache.
It said the tests came back negative for the other two confirmed cases of the virus.
A total of 18 people have tested negative for Ebola in the country, the organization said.WHO is coordinating its response to the Ebola outbreak.
