WASHINGTON — The founder of a technology company that was the subject of a federal investigation that accused him of running a pyramid scheme has said he will not take any legal action against the government.CEO of US based tech company Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, spoke out in a written statement on Wednesday, saying his company is fully cooperating with the FBI investigation into the alleged scheme.
The company said it will cooperate fully with the investigation.
Zuckerberg has not responded to requests for comment.
Zuckerberg’s announcement comes amid growing scrutiny of Facebook’s decision to pay out more than $1 billion in stock to investors in an effort to shore up its market value.
The company has been under intense scrutiny from congressional committees investigating whether the company engaged in a wide range of questionable practices.
The SEC has also launched an investigation.
In a separate statement Wednesday, Zuckerberg said he expects the DOJ to make its findings public, but did not elaborate.
